This paper offers a cyber-theological transposition of the hexagram line “Following brings gain, yet constancy brings misfortune.” It argues that in the great-power contest, the gravest peril lies not in conflict itself, but in a structural compulsion to follow: after each side tastes the sweet nectar of edge-probing, it becomes structurally unable to brake, ultimately precipitating the collapse of the entire system.
