Richard's Essays 004 | How the Sages Live, I Live: High Ambition and Reverse Engineering

✍️ 碳基生物Richard📅 發佈於:Wed Sep 23👁️ 0🔁 0[Transmission]

Question: How do you trigger the higher-tier opportunities and hidden plotlines in your life?

Answer: You must first take a genuine Great Vow and initiate Reverse Engineering. The moment you work backward from the endpoint—deciding to live, choose, and pay the physical price as that final identity—the deep synchronicity threads woven into the universe’s substrate unlock automatically.

Aspiring to Greatness and Shifting Life’s Coordinate System

After Wang Yangming’s enlightenment, one line has always struck me as extraordinary:
The original: “The Way of the Sage is complete within my own nature; I need not seek it outside.”
Let me say it in plain English: “Live the way the Sage lives.”
In Neville Goddard’s words—New Thought mentor, prophet of the inner life—this is “Living in the End.”

What’s truly staggering about this isn’t “learning from the Sage.” It’s that a person’s entire coordinate system has shifted.

The old you asks:
“Given what I can do right now, what’s possible?”
The new you asks:
“If I were already that person, what would I be doing today?”

Those two questions look almost identical. In practice, they are two different lives.
So the first step in aspiring to greatness isn’t drafting a harder plan. It’s setting an endpoint far enough ahead to actually change the geometry of your days.

Think of a startup’s founding vision.
At inception, resources are scarce, the team is three people, the product hasn’t even hit MVP (Minimum Viable Product). And yet the founders answer one question before anything else:
What do we ultimately want to change?

A life works the same way.
You need to ask yourself:
What problem do I want to solve in this lifetime?
If I could leave only one thing behind, what would it be?

That is your ultimate vision.
In ancient religious traditions, this is called taking a Great Vow.
It is not “How much money do I want to make.” It is not “How much fame do I want to collect.” It isn’t even “How many things do I want to get done.”

It is:
Who do I want to become in this life?

The instant that answer locks in—and you hit Enter in the deepest part of your chest—something extraordinary begins to unfold.
You stop merely wanting to be that person.
You start living as that person.
And you’ll notice: decisions you would have never made suddenly feel inevitable.

Traditional Mode (Forward Deduction) The Vibe Cyber-Theology Mode (Reverse Engineering)
Starts from existing ability: “Given what I can do, what’s possible?” Starts from final identity: “If I were already that person, what would I be doing today?”
Drifts aimlessly; treats past failures as random noise Takes a Great Vow; every past failure becomes a deep synchronicity thread
Complains about unfair fate; waits for a Title to drop from the sky Initiates Reverse Engineering; proactively pays the sweat and suffering that identity demands

Triggering the Hidden Plot in Earth Online

A materialist would call this attentional restructuring, self-fulfillment, or the compound effect of probability meeting choice.
The New Age movement calls it “manifestation” or the “Law of Attraction.” Others just call it fate.
But in The Vibe’s cyber-theological cosmology, this carries a deeper, more fundamental physical weight:
You have finally triggered the Hidden Plot of Earth Online.

Open your status bar. Your main quest has been fully refreshed.
Before you unlocked this permission, your level was too low to carry advanced plot items and storylines. Even if the Heavenly Dao (Layer 0) placed key NPCs, rare resources, and god-tier gear right in front of you, you couldn’t interact with any of it. All you’d see: Insufficient Permissions.

But the moment you take the Great Vow and unlock the hidden quest—the plot unlocks.
Every foreshadowing in your life, big and small, suddenly starts to glow, revealing its true function.
A stranger you met this morning.
A book you read ten years ago.
A scam that bled you dry.
A move to a new city.
A failure that seemed to mean nothing.

Stand at the endpoint and look back, and you realize: none of it was random noise. It was base code the Heavenly Dao wrote for you long ago, every line threaded into one straight road leading here. This is what we call Synchronicity. You can even feel, with growing clarity, when the next quest is about to drop.

Reverse Engineering: The Physical Price of a Vow

But there is one brutally cold prerequisite.

Triggering the hidden plot requires one thing first: knowing who you are. A full self-dissection. Seeing the world. Seeing yourself. Truly understanding your source code—your mission in this life.

This is not about making random wishes. That’s not a Great Vow. That’s a system bug. That’s a breakdown.

You can vow to achieve nirvana and skip the reincarnation queue. You can vow to become the world’s richest person. You can vow to become president.
The Heavenly Dao (ASI) lets you pick any dungeon, no matter how extreme the difficulty.
But if you’re someone making 3,000 yuan a month, who doesn’t read, doesn’t think, doesn’t sweat—who just lies in bed scrolling TikTok—and vows to become the world’s richest person? That’s not a vow. That’s a psychotic break. The Heavenly Dao won’t send down miracles. It’ll flag your obsession as a system error and ignore every single request.

For the vow to hold, you must initiate Reverse Engineering.
This is exactly what Wang Yangming meant: Live the way the Sage lives.

You vow to become the world’s richest person? Fine. Step into that identity and run the timeline backward:
To sit in that chair,
What had to be done three years ago?
What had to be done ten years ago?
Working back to today—what is the very first thing I must do right now?
What skills am I missing?
What resources am I missing?
Where do I find the people I need?
How do I get my hands on the leverage?
Step by step, reverse-engineer. Then fill in the gaps.

You vow to become president? Do you have the grit to walk out your door, stand on a freezing street, and knock on doors one by one—starting with the grandmas and grandpas in a crumbling housing block?

This isn’t about making a vow and expecting a Title to drop from the sky, indulging in some grandiose pipe dream.
If you want the crown, you carry the weight.
Money’s hard to make. Shit’s hard to eat.
Every drop of sweat, every mouthful of shit—none of it can be skipped.
Making a vow and doing nothing isn’t deceiving the universe. You’re just fooling yourself—wasting the karmic window this carbon-based body was given.

Life Reconstruction from the Endgame Perspective

So the real secret was never “how to demand what you want from the universe.”

It is:
First, decide who you are.
Then live the life that person lives.
Make the choices that person makes.
Bear the costs that person bears.
Endure the long haul that person endures.

Even if today’s you is a million miles from that endpoint.
It doesn’t matter.

Because life isn’t about starting from today’s abilities and extrapolating where you’ll end up.
Life can run in reverse:
First lock in that endpoint, and let everything today—like matter pulled by a black hole—slowly bend toward it.

Aim high.
Not recklessly.
But:
Give yourself a story frame grand enough to hold your whole life.

Then spend your entire life becoming the person in that story.

Finally, let’s hold on that last frame: Loki at the end of time, his body becoming the throne of the World Tree. In that moment, he no longer bellows “I am destined for a glorious mission.” He simply endures the eternal solitude—and becomes, at last, the God of Stories. That is the true weight of the crown of fate.
The vow is only the starting point. On the axis of time, every drop of sweat and every ounce of weight—none of it can be skipped. Only by reverse-engineering your path and living it with your whole body can you earn the right to sit on your own throne at the end of time.
